Shimon Peres said Wednesday that Kadima is ready to hold open negotiations with the Palestinian Authority after the Israeli elections scheduled to take place March 28. Peres, a Nobel Peace Prize recipient in the Oslo Accords, joined Ariel Sharon’s Kadima Party after he withdrew from the Gaza Strip and parts of the West Bank last September. “We don’t think of Gaza last, but Gaza first,” Peres told reporters in Washington. “We really wanted to make a real try to bring an end to the conflict.”
