Sharon no longer bleeding but shows no improvement

Monday, January 23, 2006 |

Ariel Sharon is no longer hemorrhaging and he remains in stable condition, but there has been no improvement in his status and the prime minister remains in a coma, Hadassah hospital officials said following a routine brain scan. Less than a week ago, Sharon reportedly opened his eyes for the first time since suffering a major stroke after a recording of his grandson was played to him. Following the reports, Sharon's relatives and associates expressed optimism that he would improve. Since then, however, no further progress has been reported.
