Kenya seeks Israeli army training techniques

Thursday, January 26, 2006 |

Kenya is seeking Israel Defense Forces (IDF) assistance in rescue-and-relief team training. Either the IDF’s Home Front Command would travel to Kenya for training or the Kenyans would travel to Israel. This week in Kenya, a five-story building collapsed with workers trapped beneath the rubble. Israel’s Home Front Command went to help and pulled two survivors and seven bodies from the rubble. "We came here to help save lives. We are in the advanced stages of removing the rubble and I hope by the morning that we will have completed the removal of all the debris and will be able to... leave it in the hands of the local authorities," the head of IDF Command said.
