The Knesset Christian Allied Caucus, a Parliament committee comprised of both Israeli and Christian leaders, expressed its disdain for the landslide Hamas victory. “The establishment of 'Hamastan' run by radical Islam which is openly anti-Jewish and anti-Christian, and not just anti-Israeli, is a [declaration of] religious holy war against both our faiths,” said Caucus co-Chairman Member of Knesset Yuri Shtern (Israel Beitenu party) at the monthly meeting of the parliamentary lobby. Stern said that this was a spiritual and religious threat to both Judaism and Christianity’s “civil beliefs, religion, and faith.” The Caucus represents Israel’s new founded interest in gaining support from the evangelical Christian community.
