Palestinian Authority Acting Finance Minister Jihad Wazir said if Hamas doesn’t change its ideology, the PA will collapse for lack of money. Wazir said that this is a critical situation for the Finance Ministry since most of the PA’s donors have refused to transfer money to the Hamas-led government unless it agrees to stop terror. Meanwhile, Israel’s Finance Ministry agreed to transfer the $54 million and the US and EU will continue aiding the PA while a caretaker government rules, which will not last much longer. Hamas leaders are aware of the grave financial situation and Wazir remains pessimistic about their ability to succeed.
