Palestinians attacked a Danish observer mission in Hebron on Wednesday trying to set a building on fire, protesting Danish cartoons that Moslems say are insulting to the prophet Mohammed. The Danish mission members belong to the Temporary International Presence in Hebron (TIPH), which serves as a buffer between the Israeli settlers and the Palestinians. The protesters threw stones, broke into the building and battered cars. The Israeli army was called in to regain control of the situation. The 60 members of the TIPH left Hebron after the rioting was over. TIPH was established after Jewish settler Baruch Goldstein killed 29 Palestinians at the Cave of Machpelah in 1994.
