Likud Knesset Member Naomi Blumenthal was convicted Monday by the Tel Aviv Magistrate’s Court on charges of corruption, election fraud and obstruction of justice. Blumenthal was accused of bribing 15 Likud activists by hosting them in the Sheraton City Tower Hotel prior to the 2002 Likud primaries. Blumenthal also bribed her driver Ari Oski and ordered him to recruit a member of the Likud Central Committee, to convince the rest of the committee to vote for her. Blumenthal left the courtroom without comment. She faces up to seven years in prison.
