The Tel Aviv Magistrate’s Court sentenced Prime Minister Ariel Sharon’s son, Omri Sharon to nine months in jail on Tuesday. Sharon was convicted of concealing illegal donations amounting to 6 million shekels ($1.3 million) to his father’s elections campaign in 1999. His sentencing had been delayed due to his father’s condition. One of the charges called for five years in jail. Sharon was also convicted of violating political party laws.
