Survey: Israelis dissatisfied with leadership

Tuesday, February 28, 2006 |
A recent poll conducted by Haifa University revealed that Israelis trust their leaders less than Europeans trust theirs. Israel was among the lowest of all nations conducted in the study, but head of the research team Eran Vigoda-Gadot said that might also stem from Israelis’ high level of criticism of their leaders. Israel’s highest ranking was in the category of morals and ethics of public servants, which placed them third. “The poor image of the Knesset and parties is nothing new. It is possible that the findings stem from the fact that the Israeli political and democratic systems are saturated with acts of disrespect for the law and for proper moral and administrative values,” Vigoda-Gadot said.
