In perhaps the non-news of the day, the Palestinian movie “Paradise Now” did not win an Oscar yesterday at the Academy Awards ceremony. “Paradise Now” had been nominated under the Foreign Language Film category. The film, which follows the lives of two suicide bombers in training in Nablus, stirred much controversy because it was listed under the non-existent nation of Palestine and because parents of Israeli suicide bombing victims opposed the movie.
