Saudi Arabia to host boycott Israel conference

Tuesday, March 07, 2006 |
Saudi Arabia will host an international conference next week promoting a trade embargo on the State of Israel. Saudi Arabia continues to prohibit Israeli goods from entering its country. This violates promises the Kingdom made last year to Washington that it would drop its economic boycott of Israel. Fifty-seven member states belonging to the Organization for the Islamic Conference will meet in Jidda to discuss how to strengthen their boycott. Despite the fact that Saudi Arabia is a member of the World Trade Organization and must keep the agreement that it will treat all members equally, it plans to go ahead with its scheduled conference.
