Meretz platform seeks to include gays in civil marriage law

Leftist Meretz Party Chairman Yossi Beilin said he and his party would not support a law on civil marriage if it excluded gays. Meretz presented its party platform at “Carpe Diem” a Tel Aviv bar, which is popular among homosexuals. With just two weeks left before the elections Meretz said it will hold on to its provocative tone and stand firm on its liberal issues.
