Friends of the Israeli army volunteers, in cooperation with Angel Bakery, set a Guinness world record on Monday when they baked the largest traditional Jewish Hamentaschen (Haman’s ears) ever produced anywhere on earth, which weighed weighing 650 kg (1,433 lbs). Hamentaschen are an Ashkenaki Jewish cookie, which according to some tradition symbolizes eliminating wicked opinions, symbolized by hearing ears. The recipe for this mega Hamentaschen included 200 kg (441 lbs) of flour, 120 kg (265 lbs) of margarine, 400 eggs, 40 kg (88lbs) of sugar and 150 kg (330lbs) of poppy seeds. Purim Sameach!
