Israeli army kills terrorist near Jericho

Wednesday, March 22, 2006 |

Israeli Defense Force troops shot an Islamic Jihad operative early Wednesday morning in the Akhbar Jaba refugee camp near Jericho. Forces surrounded three buildings in the refugee camp where they believed the Islamic Jihad forces were hiding. Two men exited the building when the soldiers called on the terrorists to surrender. After calling on the third to leave, the Israeli army threw grenades and spotted the fugitive when they opened fire and killed him. Israeli security forces are working intensively to prevent a terror attack before the March 28 elections. Police arrested on Tuesday a would-be suicide bomber on his way to carry out an attack in Jerusalem.
