Israeli army orders PA closure of Jericho DCO

Monday, April 10, 2006 |

Israeli Army officials told Palestinians at the Jericho District Coordination Office on Monday to clear out their offices by Tuesday as Israel is cutting ties with the Palestinian Authority due to Hamas’ rise to power. Until now, Israelis and Palestinians worked in the same building in Jericho, but not together. Prime Minister Ehud Olmert decided to sever all ties with the Palestinian Authority, but said Israel will continue in giving humanitarian aid to the Palestinians along with the international community. The border crossings in and out of Gaza will remain open to allow the flow of humanitarian aid.
