Israeli army base hit by rockets

Monday, April 10, 2006 |

Palestinians hit an Israeli army base when they fired Kassem rockets near Ashkelon on Monday. The Israeli army is striking Kassem launch zones in Gaza from the air, land and sea. Two rockets were fired into Israel while one fell short of the security fence at the northern Gaza crossing. No injuries were reported from the rocket attacks. The Zikim recruitment base has been hit before by direct rockets in the past. Since the withdrawal from the Gaza Strip, the Zikim base has stepped up its security with the rise in Palestinian launching Kassems. Army officials said they have no definitive solution for the Kassem strikes.
