Army strikes Gaza refugee camp

Tuesday, April 11, 2006 |

A 9-year-old Palestinian girl was killed and 20 others wounded on Tuesday when the Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) shelled the Beit Lahiya refugee camp in the northern Gaza Strip. The IDF began a fourth day of strikes after continual Qassam rockets have been fired on Israeli soil, including one that hit an army base on Monday. The tragic death will not change the army’s policy against terrorists in Gaza. Southern command officials said, “With all regret over civilians being hurt, which is not deliberate and is only caused due to the terrorists, we will continue in the same path.”
