Peres leads ‘March of the Living’ at Auschwitz death camp

Shimon Peres, Israel’s oldest Knesset Member, led the March of the Living at the Auschwitz death camp in Poland on Tuesday. Peres told one of Israel’s daily newspapers that, “When I see this with my own eyes on this day, and at the same time I hear Iranian President Ahmadinejad uttering his terrible words of hate, I cannot rest. I realize it's not over. I discover that those terrible demons are still living with us and are attempting to develop lethal weapons to exterminate us.” In spite of the struggles Jews face today, Peres said he was touched by the thousands of Jewish teenagers from around the world who participated in the march. “Israel should be a strong country that is able to defend all the Jews in the world,” he said.
