More than 1,700 Israelis were in Sinai at the time of the Dahab bombings and many are staying to finish their vacation. “I didn't hear the news and I don't want to know what's happening,” one Israeli tourist said. The Counterterrorism Bureau in Israel warned Israeli tourists in the Sinai to come back home, but some were not even aware of the Dahab bombings. One woman said, "Please don't spoil my vacation. I didn't hear the news and I don't want to know what happened." Meanwhile a senior security official warned that al-Qaida and Global Jihad are attempting to establish cells in the Palestinian territories. Senior officers referred to the attack as another sign of Global Jihad's encroachment on Israel.
