Hamas-Fatah clash in Gaza, three killed

Monday, May 08, 2006 |

Hamas and Fatah gunmen clashed on Monday in the Gaza Strip, killing three and wounding at least 10 in the most serious outbreak of violence since Hamas took power. The shooting erupted in the village of Abassan, near the Khan Younis refugee camp, when Hamas fired at a Palestinian Authority government vehicle immediately killing two Fatah security force members. Both groups accused the other of kidnapping members of their party. Children stayed home from school as pools of blood flooded the villages.
