Israeli army nabs two would be bombers en route to Jerusalem

Monday, May 29, 2006 |  Sara Fischer
The Israeli army on Monday nabbed two would-be suicide bombers near Nablus with a bag of explosives on their way to carry out a large-scale attack in Jerusalem. Intelligence reports prompted Shin Bet (Israel’s Security Services) to deploy extra forces and set up numerous roadblocks in the Nablus area. Soldiers apprehended the suspects and found the bag. Sappers dismantled the explosive belts. Israeli army officials said that the attack was a joint plan by members of Fatah, Islamic Jihad and the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine terrorist organizations.
