Interior Minister Roni Bar-On told four Hamas legislators who are legal residents of Jerusalem that they must resign from their posts in the Palestinian parliament if they wish to continue living in Jerusalem. “You will either resign or you won't be with us,” Bar-On said. This ultimatum was directed at the Minister for Jerusalem Affairs Khaled Abu Arafa and three members of the Palestinian parliament Mohammed Abu Tir (picture), Ahmed Abu Atoun and Mahmoud Totah. Police issued warning letters to the four Hamas officials on Monday evening admonishing them to cut all ties with the Palestinian Authority within two months or proper action would be taken against them. The officials said they have no intention of signing such a document. Israeli considers Hamas a terrorist organization that refuses to recognize Israel.
