Army intelligence to draw plan amidst increasing violence

Monday, June 05, 2006 |  Natanel Doron

The Israeli army is drafting a plan to deal with “worse case scenarios” as a period of relative calm fades between Israelis and Palestinians. An army intelligence assessment said that the prime minister’s plan to withdraw further territory will not decrease daily violence in Judea and Samaria. “The Palestinian society has chosen a path in which there is no compromise,” a senior officer said, referring to the Hamas majority in the Palestinian parliament. Further information concerning the plan has yet to be revealed until the document is released.
