Palestinians fired seven Qassam rockets into Israel on Tuesday, one landing in a child’s bed in Sderot and another wounding a women who was later taken to the hospital. “The rockets today were especially powerful, and their blast was heard clearly throughout the city. Children were frightened, people were panicking, and the IDF has no answer,” a Sderot spokesman said. Rockets landed near schools and damaging several cars, others were treated for shock. The Israeli army has retaliated with artillery fire towards the Gaza Strip. Public Security Minister Avi Dichter recommended that the IDF should enter Gaza with massive ground forces, but Prime Minister Ehud Olmert and Defense Minister Amir Peretz opposed the idea.
