While helping to organize the 1979 Iranian revolution, Reza Safa, a Shiite Moslem, felt an urgency to leave his homeland. He headed to Sweden to live with a friend and there he underwent a spiritual revolution of his own. Now Safa is a born again believer teaching about Israel and salvation to the Persian-speaking world. His teachings have been broadcast via satellite into Iran and other Islamic nations where the penalty for converting from Islam is death since May 2003. Since then, 30,000 Moslems have called Safa’s offices in Tulsa, Oklahoma for salvation or healing. “Many are getting saved,” Safa said. In order to disciple the new believers, Safa meets groups of them to Turkey where he holds training sessions. Safa was in Israel to record footage for his teaching series about Israel that has already begun airing. Israel Today will run a full interview with him in our July magazine.
