The Israeli Air Force killed two Hamas operatives in the Gaza Strip after attacking Qassam launching crews near the refugee camp of Beit Lahiya. A second air strike killed an Islamic Jihad operative while seven terrorists were wounded in the attacks. The Israeli army is continuing targeted assassinations after stormy events over the weekend of heavy shelling intended to quell Qassam launching. Hamas announced that it launched a Qassam rocket into Israel, the first attack the organization took responsibility for since declaring a cease-fire 16 months ago, increasing the possibility of terrorism in Israel. Police forces were dispatched throughout the country on Sunday to secure the borders between Israel and the Palestinian territories.
