Prime Minister Ehud Olmert commended US President George W. Bush on the killing of al-Qaeda commander Abu Musab al-Zarqawi. Olmert told President Bush that this is an example of how the world needs to fight the war on terror. “The resolution and the leadership that the President shows is the only way that it will be possible to win over terror,” Olmert said. Israelis saw the death of Zarqawi, who had also been involved in terror attacks against Israelis, as a great triumph.
