Prime Minister Ehud Olmert refuses to apologize to the world for the unfortunate deaths of innocent Palestinian civilians over the weekend. The actual cause of death, whether by Palestinian terrorists or the Israeli army, is still under investigation. “The State of Israel does not need to apologize for defending its country,” Olmert said. “We will continue to act carefully and responsibly, but without hesitation in operations against Qassam attacks, and will not refrain from operations that involve foiling an attack or preventing terror.” Olmert indicated that a Palestinian mine is what caused the death of a Palestinian family. “The Palestinians will create myths like they did in the past with the boy Mohammed who was killed in the crossfire until it was brought to light that he was killed by Palestinian gunfire.” Olmert is in the middle of a five-day tour to London and Paris where he hopes to convince British Prime Minister Tony Blair and French Prime Minister Jacques Chirac to support his convergence plan.
