Prime Minister Ehud Olmert said that Israel would not subject itself to an international investigation regarding Israeli army operations. Olmert rejected calls for an investigation into the killing of the Palestinian family on June 9 at a Gaza beach. Olmert is confident in the results of an Israel Defense Forces’ inquiry that concluded the family was not killed by Israeli artillery fire. “The world is not always ready to accept what we say and present,” Olmert said. Israel has never given nor will ever give instructions to kill civilians, except for Hamas, Olmert said. The prime minister indicated that while he was in Europe neither British Prime Minister Tony Blair nor French President Jacques Chirac criticized Israeli army operations.
