Israel eases entry for Palestinians

Wednesday, June 21, 2006 |  by Staff Writer

Israel decided yesterday to ease up on restrictions and issued 3,000 permits to Palestinian workers so they can enter the country. This brings the numbers of Palestinian workers allowed in Israel to 10,000. Only workers who are over the age of 35 and have families in Palestinian territories were given permission to enter Israel. Security officials based the criteria for issuing permits on the profile for terrorists: usually males in their 20s who don’t have a family of their own.
