Prime Minister Ehud Olmert said that in spite of the distress and pain it is impossible to find a viable and complete solution that will remove the threat of Qassams once and for all.

In a speech made to the World Zionist Congress the prime minister said that he has full admiration and appreciation for the residents of Sderot, praising them for their patience.

“I know the painful reality of you in Sderot and in the Negev. I know how difficult it is. I know it’s scary, I know how parents must feel sending their children to school and this is at a time when we do not know when a rocket will fall or where a bomb will be dropped, hurting innocent civilians inside of Israel.”

Olmert stressed that Israel will implement a strategic plan against Qassam rockets. “There will be no immunity for anyone involved in terror, it doesn’t matter who did it or to whom he belongs, we will not loosen our grip on this war. We will overcome terror and we will bring security to all of Israel, in the Negev and other areas.”
