Tourism Minister Isaac Herzog made a trip to Nazareth on Wednesday, stopping in one of the most significant towns for thousands of pilgrims who visit Israel each year. According to statistics provided by the Ministry of Tourism, approximately 50 percent of tourists who come to Israel are Christians. Herzog toured the most celebrated sites in Nazareth: The Greek Orthodox Church, the Shuk, the White Mosque, and the Church of the Annunciation.

During his trip Herzog encountered a group of tourists from a number of different nations including Russia, Britain, and the US. Herzog shook hands and had his picture taken with hundreds the visitors.

But it was the Japanese tourists that Herzog was able to lead through the city. He began to tell them the history of Nazareth and of its holy places. Herzog also escorted the group inside the Church of the Annunciation. The Japanese tourists were very excited and requested to have their pictures taken with the tourism minister.
