Justice Minister Haim Ramon said on Wednesday that Hamas' Syria-based leader Khaled Mashaal is a target for assassination for ordering the kidnapping of Gilad Shalit. “He is definitely in our sights ... he is a target,” Ramon told Army Radio. “Khaled Mashaal, as someone who is overseeing, actually commanding the terror acts, is definitely a target.” Ramon labeled Mashaal as an equivalent to Osama Bin Laden and called on the international community to force Syrian President Bashar Assad to expel Mashaal from Damascus, where he freely operates. Mashaal was expelled from Qatar before he moved to Syria.
