The French Embassy in Israel held a reception to announce the winners of a radio correspondent competition in an event organized by Radio France Internationale (RFI) and European Union embassies in Israel. Young reporters from around the country were required to write articles on the subject of dialogue between European states and Middle Eastern nations. This initiative was supported by the European Union. The five writers, Avital Tomer from the Hebrew University of Jerusalem, Ronit Bachman from the College of Economics, Ya’ara Marciano from Galgalatz Radio, Christine Khalil from the College of the Jezreel Valley, and Ariel Berkowitz from Israel Army Radio will fly to Paris next week for a course in radio journalism. The Israelis will join 25 colleagues from Egypt, Lebanon, the PA, Tunis, Jordan, Syria, and Turkey. As part of the course, the young reporters will take workshops in writing and editing for radio journalism. The best correspondent will be featured on Radio France and on Monte Carlo radio.
