The Israeli air force (IAF) attacked the office of Hamas Prime Minister Ismail Haniyeh in Gaza City overnight Saturday setting the building ablaze. One Palestinian bystander was wounded in the action. The structure appeared to be abandoned. The IAF said it wanted to make clear to Hamas officials that it held them responsible for the kidnapping of Corporal Gilad Shalit. The Israeli army said it would, “employ all means at its disposal…to secure the safe return” of the soldier. PM Haniyeh said, “They have targeted a symbol for the Palestinian people.” Meanwhile, the Israeli army continued to attack Palestinian Kassam launch sites in the northern Gaza Strip.
