Monday, July 03, 2006 |  by Staff Writer
“The government of Israel will not surrender to the blackmail of the Palestinian Authority or to Hamas that is run by murderous terrorist groups. We will not take part in any negotiations for the release of prisoners.” This was conveyed yesterday in an official announcement from the Prime Minister’s office in Jerusalem.

In the announcement it was said that "the Palestinian Authority carries full responsibility for the welfare of Gilad Shalit and his safe and sound return to Israel.”

Prime Minister Ehud Olmert ordered the security forces to continue to act without regard to ultimatums.
