Israel air force strikes Gaza Interior Ministry

The Israeli Air Force hit the Palestinian Interior Ministry building in Gaza City early Wednesday morning after terrorists launched a Kassam rocket into an Ashkelon school. For the first time, Defense Minister Amir Peretz instructed the Israeli army to step up its operations in Gaza. Three terrorists were wounded in the Gaza City air raid. Witnesses said the main building collapsed and caused damage to nearby structures.

Medics rushed to the scene and treated people for shock.

Troops also attacked a building in northern Gaza that is used during the day as a school and at night as a meeting place for Palestinian operatives. No injuries were reported.

The Israeli army entered Gaza a week ago after Palestinians attacked a military post killing two soldiers and abducting Gilad Shalit near the Gaza border.
