Israeli wins first Grand Slam at Wimbledon

Israeli Andy Ram partnered with Russian Vera Zvonareva and together grand slammed their way to victory at Wimbledon’s finals against Americans Bob Bryan and Venus Williams in the mixed doubles. With smashing sets of 6-3 and 6-2 the two defeated their opponents in just 55 minutes. It was in their previous tournament together in the French Open last month that the two advanced to the semifinals. Ram is the first Israeli to win a Grand Slam title at the professional level. Ram and Zvonareva will split their $90,000 in winnings.
