Arab communities benefit

Israel has decided that all Israeli-Arab communities will be classified as class A areas, making them eligible for state funding and tax benefits. The goal in developing these parts of the country is to draw business investors into the Israeli economy. Arabs in these communities would benefit greatly from the government particularly through tourism and industry. Arabs opened their first shopping mall, a 40 million shekel ($9 million) investment, which is five stories high spanning some 140,000 square feet. Residents hope their new mall will attract thousands of tourists.
