After an extensive overnight search, police and Zaka (an acronym for Zihui Korbanot Ason, Hebrew for Identification of Disaster Victims) found the body of eight-year-old Shimon Tzriker who disappeared on Sunday during a class field trip to the Nitzanim Beach. Police are investigating the death to see if it was a result of negligence. Army Radio reported that the boy was noticed missing only at the end of the day. Haim Otmazgin, head of Zaka, said that it is difficult to see 30 cm ahead of you, and that it is possible he could’ve slipped while in the water.
