Intelligence briefing on Nasrallah

Head of Intelligence Amos Yadlin said that if Hizballah’s Hassan Nasrallah would have known in advance the situation he would not have abducted the soldiers.

“Nasrallah does not want to be thought of as Lebanon’s destroyer, but rather defender. He is very unsatisfied with what happened in the international border,” Yadlin said at a Cabinet meeting.

Yadlin also said that Nasrallah is preparing a few more surprises of which some involve launching long-range rockets into central Israel and using anti-aircraft missiles.

Yadlin indicated that Nasrallah was shocked over Israel’s response. He also stressed that the strength of the Israeli Home Front will change becoming an additional tragedy for Nasrallah.

“Nasrallah does not understand that Israel went through a very difficult time with the intifada in the past six years and Israeli society knows how to adjust to this better than in the past.”

Concerning Hizballah’s capabilities Yadlin said that the organization has Katyushas with a 30 km range (19 miles) that it has received from Syria.

Rockets that landed in Haifa, killing eight on Sunday, were made in Syria.
