Immigrants arrive in midst of war

While katyushas continue to fall on Israeli territory and may have deterred tourists, new immigrants continue to return home to Israel.

Since the beginning of the month, over one thousand immigrants have arrived in Israel. From the start of Israel’s two-front war over 174 immigrants have arrived, few of whom were unwilling to resettle elsewhere, but headed up north to the towns of Acre and Tiberias where residents remain in bomb shelters.

This week a plane carrying 220 immigrants from the United States landed with the organization “Nefesh B’Nefesh (Soul to Soul).” Next week a group of over 620 immigrants from France is expected to arrive. The Minister of Absorption and Immigration Ze’ev Boim said this encourages us and testifies to the deep Zionistic values of the State of Israel.

“This without a doubt raises the morale of us here in Israel,” he said.
