Minister of Defense, Amir Peretz, said at the opening of his meeting with Secretary-General of the Council of the European Union, Javier Solana, "We stand on the principle that Hizballah will retreat from the border such that Hizballah's flag will not fly over our border fences."
Peretz added,” the Lebanese government is the sovereign and must take responsibility for what happens in its territory. Israel will bring about the weakening of the terrorist organizations so that they won't dare to shoot."
