Sunday, July 23, 2006 |  by Staff Writer
Israeli warplanes hit two rocket launchers and two vehicles used by Hizballah shortly after two people were killed in Haifa. The Air Force said its Lebanese operation has two goals: the destruction of terrorist infrastructure and rocket launch sites.

A senior Israel Air Force official said Israel has hit important infrastructures already, but the terrorists continue to operate from population centers and use tunnels in order to hide.”

The Air Force is also preparing to serve as aerial backup for IDF ground forces operating in southern Lebanon villages.

The army is also responding to international appeals to provide humanitarian aid for Lebanese citizens. The IDF is coordinating the transfer of aid in conjunction with international organizations bringing humanitarian supplies. Supplies and representatives will arrive by ship to the port and be distributed throughout the country from there.
