Two Israeli soldiers were killed in a harsh battle in southern Lebanon while two were killed when their helicopter crashed to the ground in northern Israel.

An Israel Defense Forces officer and another soldier were killed in heavy exchanges of fire between ground forces and Hizballah members between Maroun al-Ras and Bint Jbeil in Lebanon.

Another 18 fighters were injured, two seriously. Two terrorists were captured during this battle.

In another incident Monday, two helicopter pilots were killed after the aircraft crashed and caught fire. The IDF is investigating whether the helicopter was hit by friendly fire.

Bint Jbeil is considered "Hizballah's capital" in southern Lebanon.
