Aliza Olmert Visits the North

Aliza Olmert, the wife of Prime Minister Ehud Olmert visited the north of Israel yesterday in support of the local residents under attack.

Mrs. Olmert visited day care centers in Shlomi, where she met parents and children staying inside the bomb shelter of the community center because of ongoing shelling, and watched a ventriloquist’s show with the children.

Later Mrs. Olmert visited an activity center for children in Mr’ar and visited a community center in Hurfeish.

Other guests who showed their support to the north are the team of “Maccabi Moscow,” who play in the minority league in the Russian capital. The visit included 16 players composed of Jews and non-Jews. The captain of the team is Israeli Ambassador to Russia Arkadi Milman.

The team will visit the wounded in Rambam Hospital in Haifa and will visit bomb shelters in the north.

Maccabi Moscow held a friendly match against a group of new immigrants from Latin America. The mayor of Moscow, who is a sponsor of the league in the city, gave his blessing to the team’s solidarity visit to Israel.
