IDF ordered to strike weapons trucks in Lebanon

The Israeli political leadership has instructed the Israel Defense Forces to hit and destroy any trucks who will attempt to deliver weapons from Syria to Lebanon for the purpose of rearming Hizballah.

Political officials said that this is not a violation of UN Security Council Resolution 1701 which imposed an arms embargo on the Hizballah. Israel has also decided not to lift the naval blockade on Lebanon to prevent weapons re-supplying by sea.

Israeli intelligence is convinced that Syria and Iran are continuing to supply Hizballah with weapons even after the ceasefire. Head of the IDF’s Intelligence Division said a few days ago that Iran had sent weapons to Hizballah under the guise of humanitarian assistance.
