Chavez suggests trying Israel for genocide

During a visit to Beijing this week Venezuelan President Hugo Chavez said that Israel must be put on trial in the International Criminal Court in The Hague for genocide.

Chavez also compared Israel’s actions in Lebanon to Hitler’s actions in Europe.

In a conversation with journalists, Chavez said that “Hitler is always condemned, but they (Israel) have acted just like him, and maybe even worse. Israel’s position is Fascist and there is a need to try the Israeli leadership in front of the International Court on charges of genocide.”

Chavez added that the United States and Israel are doing everything in their power to prevent Venezuela from having a seat at the UN Security Council.
