Fox News Crew Converts to Islam

A negotiator who was involved in the release of the two Fox News journalists from Gaza this week says that their conversion to Islam was an idea designed to expedite their release.

A few hours before their release, correspondent Steve Centanni and cameraman Olaf Wiig were seen in a video dressed in Muslim garb and reciting verses from the Koran.

Canon Andrew White, Chairman of the Foundation for Reconciliation in the Middle East told a New Zealand radio station today that they had suggested that the two convert to Islam. According to him, the conversion salvaged the kidnappers’ pride and brought to the release of the two journalists.

The two journalists were taken at gunpoint two weeks ago as they were traveling in Gaza covering a story for the network. They were held by a previously unknown group called the “Holy Jihad Brigades,” and were released this Sunday in good condition.
