Five Kassams Fired on Sderot

Thursday, August 31, 2006 |  by Staff Writer

After a long period of calm in the city of Sderot, five Kassam rockets fired by Palestinians in north Gaza hit the southern city early this morning lightly injuring one woman and damaging structures.

The rockets were fired at the city and at surrounding Western Negev communities damaging a warehouse which caused a blaze that was put out by Sderot fire fighters. Other rockets landed near a kindergarten and in open areas in two kibbutzim in the area. One woman was taken to a nearby hospital after being lightly injured from the rocket.

The attack comes after a month of relative calm in the area where only few rockets were fired, causing minimal damage, and little injuries.
